Mozilla Community meet @ Ameerpet

We started with  discussing each others favorite features of Firefox,

*Cbrao said that he is unable to open multiple Gmail accounts at the same time in Firefox, where as he can do so in IE8, using the 'Start a new session' feature. Veeven told him that he can use multiple profiles. (But, afterwards by Googling, he said found Gmail Manager.)

*veeven talked about the awsomebar and recent improvements like restricting the matches to bookmarks (*) and to tagged (+), etc.

* Manish enquired about a way to install/uninstall add-ons without restaring Firefox. Veeven told him that the Jetpacks can meet that requirement.

*Me & Sireesh proposed to start a community website for Firefox users in Andhra Pradesh. Manish suggested it would be better we conduct meetups about all free software's.

A gathering about Firefox without talking on Add-ons? Never.  We spoke about our favorite add-ons.

* Cooliris: browse photos and videos on the web or on your computer

* Padma: read Indian language local newspapers in Unicode

The Making of 3.5 Video Ad...

This Video would not have been made with out the support of my friends, its an experience. This freaking 'concept' struck me one night and i decided to work on it. Goutham Reddy Sama my friend, a movie maker with experience of many short films. With the concept on paper i approached Goutham and asked if he could help me with making the Video. He said, as there are many graphics involved we'd be needing a professional editor and a good video camera.

Goutham introduced me to 'Venk'at reddy, a Professional editor who works for Tollywood movies. we discussed the script and told him that we are doing the project with our own interest and passion for Non-profit organization Mozilla. He loved the idea of spreading Firefox in such a creative way & agreed to do the project :)

We used a 3CCD Panasonic camera(rented from a studio), a handy-cam, a digital cam, and flash light.

We used two cars for the shoot.! one Ford Fiesta, My friend Rakesh Tiruveedula's car and the other  Pramod Reddy Manda's Volkswagen Jetta (used for interiors). Mandeep Singh & Rohit Reddy Suday helped in arranging the equipment and car's on time and were very patient driving the car for numerous 'takes' while shooting. The 100% organic scene was shot at my uncles fuel station"Sai ram Gas station"-Thanks to my cousin Sandeep Reddy Gajjala.

The shooting was done at four different locations. The opening sequence at the Outer ring road construction site. The shoot was risky and bit dangerous as the car need to come and stop at the end, (for the "Safety" sequence)...even though the car was not that fast as the mud was newly pressed... surface was bit loosening up at the edges and that was one of the reasons we could not use the other car for all the sequence.

The Video was posted in more than 80 blogs, twittered worldwide, The ad video link posted on official Firefox Facebook page has more than 2000 likes and 300 plus comments in less than a week. The video played its bit of a role during the launch promotion of Firefox 3.5!
